5 artists we can't wait to see from the 2025 First Wave line up with Clunk Magazine

We’re delighted to be teaming up with the good folks at CLUNK Magazine again this year - champions of new music for fresh ears - to deep dive into some of the amazing acts that you can catch at Boardmasters 2025.  This month, we’re diving into 5 acts we cannot wait to see next summer…

1. Wet Leg

The Isle Of Wight outfit became a somewhat overnight sensation with their extremely viral release ‘Chaise Longue’, which was followed by the equally popular ‘Wet Dream’. It wasn’t long before the band were on the airwaves across the land and geared up to release their self-titled debut LP.

Upon release, the album exploded and earned a Grammy award for Best Alternative Music Album. We’re yet to get a taste of new music from Wet Leg but that hasn’t stopped them from continuing to grow a rabid fan base.

Expect an entertaining show that will unite music fans of all kinds under one tent for their set at Boardmasters 2025. We cannot wait to see them bring their quirky indie sound to to the festival.

2. Deadletter

The post-punk outfit that blends bouncy elements of artists such as The B52‘s and Roxy Music are going to steal the show at Boardmasters 2025.

It’s a ball of energy that is unleashed upon the crowd. Since that time the band has brought their sound to new heights and released the critically acclaimed ‘Hysterical Strength’.

Catching them at Boardmasters 2025 is a real treat for all, we cannot recommend them (as well as be excited) enough about this band and their performance.

3. Fat Dog

If you’ve already seen them live, then you know you’re in for a wild ride. If you’re new to Fat Dog, buckle up and let the pulsing psychedelic sounds whisk you away to party…

4. Rizzle Kicks

Rizzle Kicks blew up back in the 2010’s with their iconic ‘Down With The Trumpets’ single, blowing them up into airwaves of every home in the UK.

The album that followed the single release also featured bangers such as ‘Mama Do The Hump’, and ‘When I Was A Youngster’.

They have an extremely nostalgic sound and one that is reminiscent of perhaps simpler, more fun times. Their new music is on repeat…we can’t get enough of ‘New Sport‘ & ‘Gumdrops.’

5. Franz Ferdinand

Indie legends and icon Franz Ferdinand make their way to the beach for Boardmasters 2025 and frankly, this might be the best booking of the weekend so far. Like many, Franz Ferdinand soundtracked a lot of our youths during the early 2000’s indie sleaze movement.

They are indie royalty and we should all be bowing our heads as they grace the stage. If you’re not familiar with hits such as ‘Take Me Out’‘No You Girls’, and ‘Do You Want To’, then get to Spotify and listen NOW!
