12 things you may have missed at Boardmasters 2024

That’s a wrap on Boardmasters 2024. With five days of jam-packed surfing and music celebration, there was sooo much to experience. Whilst we’re all missing being at the beach, here are 12 things you may have missed at Boardmasters 2024…

1. Local legend and double podium winner Lukas Skinner made history as the first British winner since 2002

The epic final saw Lukas Skinner go head to head with Patrick Langdon-Dark in an all British men’s final for the first time in history. We won’t stop replaying this for a long time to come…

2. Super fan Bryon joined Saturday headliner Sam Fender on the Main Stage to sing smash hit ‘Borders’

From the front row of the crowd to the front of the stage… Get him a record deal!

3. The Take A Chance On Us ABBA Tribute band opened up the Main Stage on Wednesday with an electric singalong in the sunshine

The Boardies crowd really said: “let us join the band.” Feel good factor: 11/10

4. Brand new stage Surf Club ’81 gave us the best festival views in the country and sunsets for days

Looking out to the Atlantic Ocean with your best pals before a headline performance…does it get any better?! (it definitely doesn’t 😉)

5. Andy C brought out surprise guest Becky Hill during his Unleashed set on Saturday night

The queen of dance + electronic pioneer = the best set possibly ever

6. In the Wild West Jerky Longboard series, Edouard Delpero and Alice Lemoigne retained their titles as winners in a closely matched heat against their fellow finalists

We still have goosebumps from the insane level of talent on display all weekend!

7. Brand new stage, The Bandstand, hosted an incredible Opening Ceremony

Tonnes of fun was had with an opening ceilidh and an energetic set from Cornish institution Jam & Meme. Vibes on vibes!

8. The Cornwall Rock Choir returned for more sunset singalongs and congas

No golden hour is complete without those sweet feel good-anthems from the Cornwall rock Choir at The Bandstand. You lovely lot are now officially part of the choir, *standing ovation*…

9. The Boardmasters pub, Keg & Pasty, welcomed new landlady Red Ruth

The pasty purist hosted an array of bands, cabaret, comedy and dad-bod boogies. Bleddy ‘ansum. Did you spot her?!

10. Maisie Peters made a surprise appearance at Swiftoggedon in the Land of Saints Sunday Closing Party

What a way to close the weekend! PSA to Taylor Swift: did we do you proud?!

11. Pop sensation Kate Nash gave us all the feels as she performed most of her set from the crowd

She even handed a fan a handwritten postcard. We feel like we’re totally best pals with her now.

12. The Manchester City vs Manchester United game popped off at the brand new Sports Bar

Plus, loads of you came down to enjoy ping pong, arcade games and video games.
