BROOKE COMBE

BROOKE COMBE

Following her breakout in 2023, when her debut mixtape Black Is The New Gold was shortlisted for the Scottish Album Of The Year Awards, Brooke Combe has firmly established herself as one of Scotland’s most exciting artists. Her debut album, Dancing At The Edge Of The World, released via Modern Sky Records, marked a bold and unforgettable statement, cementing her place in the UK’s contemporary soul scene.

Fans first got a glimpse of Brooke’s evolving sound with the album’s title track, released ahead of the full project, where her beautifully captivating vocals took centre stage in a stunning, laid-back soul jam. Following that, the release of ‘The Last Time’ delivered an impactful farewell that resonated deeply with listeners, capturing the painful clarity of a relationship in terminal decline with every chord and searing lyric.

Produced in collaboration with musician and producer James Skelly, best known as the frontman of The Coral, Dancing At The Edge Of The World showcased the promise glimpsed in Brooke’s early work. Drawing comparisons to the first offerings of Michael Kiwanuka, Duffy, and Corinne Bailey Rae, the album revels in lush orchestral arrangements, irresistible rhythms, and vocals that feel rooted in the golden age of soul.

Recognised early on by Rolling Stone UK as “One of 2023’s defining artists” and featured in Dork Magazine’s ‘Hype List 2023’, Brooke quickly garnered support from The Guardian, NME, Clash, BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, and Radio X. Today, looking back, Dancing At The Edge Of The World remains a pivotal moment in her career—a record that introduced the world to Brooke Combe’s signature blend of raw emotion, soul-infused melodies, and fearless storytelling, confirming her rise as one of the UK’s most compelling talents.
