Having just been announced as GB Surfing’s Performance coach – Luke is one of Britain’s most successful men’s competitive shortboard surfers both in the UK and internationally in recent years. His list of achievements are impressive with highlights including being the youngest ever winner of the British National Mens Open Surfing Championship and the UKPSA Mens Surf Tour. He’s also picked up numerous prestigious awards including Men’s International Competitor Of The Year’ (Carve Magazine) and ‘Services To The Sport Of Surfing’ (UKPSA).

Lukas is no stranger to Boardmasters – both in the Junior comp and also Mens! Lukas started surfing at the age of three with his dad Ben Skinner – an 11 times European longboarding champion. Lukas has recently been crowned Grom World Champion – beating competitors from around the world to win the World Grom Search Finals in Australia. It means he follows in the footsteps of world champions Gabriel Medina and Stephanie Gilmore.

Lukas was also crowned the U16 champion at the Rip Curl Grom Search European Final 2023 in Morocco in February.
